Why Choose The Couple Therapy Centre by Relationship Care

Your child says to you ‘you don’t kiss dad like you used to’. Your partner needs to address every conflict there and then, but that’s not your style. Arguments about parenting that seem unresolvable. A redundancy that suddenly changes all dynamics within the relationship. A decision to have or not have a family that seems to never stay in the past. Every relationship brings its own story. We take the time to understand yours. Our relationship counsellors offer a supportive, balanced space where both voices matter. We don’t judge, take sides, or rush to conclusions. We listen carefully and work with you to explore healthier ways of relating.

Book your free Relationship Health Check

It is completely normal to feel unsure or to hesitate before reaching out for relationship support. That is why we offer everyone a free Relationship Health Check with one of our relationship counsellors.

Your Relationship Health Check is a confidential, one-hour consultation designed to help you better understand what is happening in your relationship — and what support may be helpful. You will receive a relationship health assessment and clear recommendations on next steps, should you wish to proceed with relationship counselling.

There is no obligation and no pressure. It is simply an opportunity to attend as an individual or as a couple, ask questions, and decide what feels right for you.

Appointments are available online across Ireland and in person across the Greater Dublin area.

  • Book your free Relationship Health Check session

Your first appointment is a confidential Relationship Health Check. We listen carefully, assess your needs, and recommend the most helpful next steps.

  • A clear plan and weekly sessions

If you decide to continue, your relationship counsellor will work with you to agree goals and a structured plan. Sessions are typically weekly, with options for online, in-person, or blended support.

  • Review progress and build practical change

Sessions are often organised in blocks (for example, five sessions at a time), with a review to reflect on progress and adjust the focus the number of sessions as needed. On average many clients attend couple therapy for around 8–10 weeks in total - some need more, some need less.

Other helpful information

  • Many people hesitate to begin relationship counselling because they worry it means the relationship is beyond repair, or that counselling is only about staying together at all costs. Neither is true. In reality, relationship counselling is a supportive, structured space to understand what is happening, improve communication, and make informed choices that feel right for you — whether your goal is to strengthen the relationship, navigate change, or find a healthier way forward.
